Chris is a walking encyclopedia, and he uses this to a distinct advantage. The comfortable energy he can create through simple interactions serves as my motivation on projects this month.

He'll ask the random employee we're passing by at a NASA Contractor's office about the Gundam on his desk, and about how they plan trajectory when launching satellites from a ship in the middle of the ocean. He can talk about retired aircraft with Generals in the Pentagon, 40k with the talent, and he's even impressed the staff at Sephora (I'll take a little credit).  These are brief encounters, but they immediately light up employees who are going through the motions at 3pm on a Monday.  Their whole body language shifts as they answer his questions with more natural enthusiasm for their work than before.

My target isn't just my client's audience, it's who they work with.  I want their co-workers to view the content they're already used to, seen 1000x, in a way that makes them feel refreshed and excited.  If they're enthusiastic about the video, then I know their customers will be too.

With creative work, you can get the feeling that people will like what you do in the way that your dad will always like your fourth grade artwork.  It feels all right, but this isn't going to keep you going when you've already been in After Effects for weeks straight.  I turned to these small interactions Chris has, as my main inspirations for projects this month.

Here's a :30 preview of Clear Channel Airport's new Sizzle Reel.  The branding plays off of the  CCO reel for cohesion, but with some editing twists, and more daring masks & tracking:

We've mentioned before that we work all kinds of aspect ratios and resolutions.  This filler is on display at ATL, with a sister version already up at Chicago Midway.  At 1080x1920, Chris can play with more interesting particle shapes, but they also create big file sizes. Most of these digital displays need videos with as small a bitrate as possible for smooth playback.

< --- To give you an idea, we took this 2.5GB file down to 25MB.

We did our first #tbt this week, mostly because Bethesda announced Fallout 4, and a few years back Chris animated their logo as a personal project:

We miss working with sound effects!  We love working with displays, but (for good reason), many don't blast out sound.

Our May and early June blended together, but we've got another creative spotlight, a few Cinema4D pieces,  and more videos coming up!

Follow us on facebook, instagram, and now twitter! to keep up with all our updates and new projects!
